I Have Gone Pattern Crazy!

Hi Friends!

I have been stuck in hotels for the better part of  February and March due to hospital visits, so I have had A LOT of time on my hands to design!  I have been focused on my Society6 shop recently.  I now have over 175 designs available in my shop on up to 54 products.  I can safely say I am super excited about all the new designs I have been making.

Have you checked out my Society6 shop?  If not, please check it out! Let me know what your favorite designs and products are.  My current favorite are my yoga mats, carry all pouches, curtains and getting super excited about beach towel weather!  The quality of products are great, I have to admit I am quite obsessed and wish I could just decorate an entire house room by room with my designs on their products!

Below are a few of my current faves!

Yoga Mat

Carry-All Pouch

Black-out Curtain

Beach Towel

I hope you check out my shop and let me know what you think!  I will be updating it regularly so look out for new designs in the future as well.  If you end up buying any items, PLEASE share photos with me on Instagram!  I absolutely love to see my designs in peoples homes.

Sew Much Dyeing Going On!

Forgive me for not posting recently, somehow I find myself always saying I will do a blog post and then I get side tracked with dyeing fabric or sewing more quilts!  I promise to keep you informed though!

A couple weekends ago I was so lucky to teach a two day Intro to Shibori dye class at Charlevoix Circle of Arts in Charlevoix, Michigan.   I had an amazing class, my students asked tons of great questions and really took my advice and ended up making some gorgeous pieces!

The first day I devoted to teaching them about 4 basic Japanese resist techniques.  Everyone got to practice on cotton fabric and I got to go around the class and help out so they really understood where the resist would be and where the dye would take on each fabric.

The second day the students took what they learned from the first day and really explored with unique methods of resisting fabric.  They also brought in clothing and pillow cases to dye.  It was a really wonderful weekend.

Two of my students from the class hired me to make their dyed pieces into blankets!  They turned out so beautiful and I am pretty sure they couldn’t be more happy with the work that they produced!

I will be teaching more classes this fall.  Look for updates here and on my Facebook or Instagram!

Spring, A Good Time For New Beginnings

As most of you know by now, my website was hacked in January while I was on a 6 week trip out West.  Not fun, especially because I always would rather be dyeing fabric or sewing so I put off fixing the issues till now.  I apologize for the inconveniences it may have caused!

I have a new website I am currently tweaking the layout of now.  I have switched my store back to Etsy for the time being because I have found 90% of my business is commission based, so it is easier to just let Etsy do the work for me basically!

A lot has happened in the first few months of 2017!  To start I had 14 quilts and 4 table runners in an art show at the Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City, Michigan for a month.  It was a great show and I really enjoyed being a part of it!  Below are a few photos from the show!

I was lucky enough to tag along on a photography trip to Telluride, Colorado, Moab, Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah and Jackson, Wyoming this winter.  It was an incredible trip and I promise to post about it and show photographs because I was insanely inspired by it!

Thanks for being so patient with me! I  will be blogging more regularly and updating everyone on what I have been doing!
