Hi friends! I hope your summers are going well and you are enjoying time with family and friends. Please let me introduce you to my newest collection, Boho Shibori Stripes. It is currently available in my Society6 shop and will be available later this summer in my Spoonflower shop.
This collection is one that I had a great time designing. My inspiration came from a rather random and funny place. I had been looking out a window towards the Intracoastal through wooden blinds for a couple of days. Every time I looked out onto the water through the blinds, I started seeing my shibori fabrics in a stripe form instead of the landscape. So, this made me take out my computer and make this collection happen.
I took photographs of my hand dyed fabrics and filled in the stripes with those fabrics. I made over 40 designs and narrowed it down to these 9. The design process for me is never perfect. I make many, many designs and only a few survive my vetting system.
I have learned over the years that my tastes are not what matters, it is what my customers tastes are. This is something that I have been learning and relearning since my time in college. It doesn’t matter if I think something I design is the best thing in the world, I am not the one buying it. Unfortunately, design tastes are like taste buds, you will never satisfy everyones tastes and that is ok. It took me years to figure this out and become okay with it.
I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I intended. If you ever have questions about my design process or if you would like a design I have available but in another color, please reach out to me. I am always here for my customers, and I love teaching others my process.
Thanks for reading!
